I am attempting to locate the details of my Great, Great, Great Grandfather.
All I know is that he was buried in Colombo and he was a ship’s captain.
I believed he died between 1860 – 1890.
His surname is CAMPBELL and I believe he was Catholic (or possibly Anglican).
He had one son – John Herbert CAMPBELL (Born 1860)
My uncle was a religious brother (Catholic) and served in St. Philip Neri’s Church Colombo for almost 70 years. His name was Geoff CAMPBELL or his religious order name was Br. Eymard.
I visited my uncle in Colombo almost 40 years ago and he took me to this persons grave. I believe it was in Colombo.
I am sorry I do not have more information. Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.

Hi. I have searched in vain through all the marriage records on the Kabristan site, so I am hoping someone here may be able to help. I seek any information about the marriages of Edward Herbert James during 1898 to 1902. He first married a Siamese woman named Mae Phawn but she died soon after. Then he married Mary Emily Myrtle Capper. It is possible these marriages took place in Ceylon, but it could have been Siam.
