I’m looking for bmd information of my ancestor Rev.Thomas Poage Hunt–born 1816, departed 1903; Would you know where he is buried? He was the first National Pastor at the American Mission Church–Chavakachcheri and First Headmaster–Jaffna College (1872-1880).
Who did he marry and what were his parents name?
Also my grandmother Isabella daughter of George Lee was church organist at St.Mary’s Kopay in early part of 1900s. She married the grandson of Rev.Thomas Poage Hunt whose name is George leichiah Hunt (my grandfather)and came to Singapore and Malaya around the 1920s after I’d like to know if her family has any bmd records.
My married last name is Klinker
Thanks.
Sorry we don’t have any info on your query but hopefully someone else will be able to help.

Hello Vasuhi,
Greetings from Australia. I have information regarding the Lee family dating back to the early 1800s. My grandmother, Mary Lee (Mrs Dana) was Isabella’s eldest sister. There were 6 daughters in the George C Lee clan. I have records of Isabella’s and George Hunt’s wedding in Singapore back in 1921. The reception was held at my grandparents home. Coincidentally, Isabella and her younger sisters Glory (Lily), Mercy and Grace were boarders with my wife’s grandmother at Nind home and went to school at the Methodist Girls School.
Do contact me as I am also trying to reconnect with the Hunt family of Malaysia.
Thank you and God bless.
Alvin

Hello Alvin,
Greetings from US. I just read your reply today and would like to know more. My grandmother Isabella indeed had many sisters though I didn’t meet grandaunt Mary Lee, I have met grandaunt Glory, Mercy and Grace. The other grandchildren of Isabella live in Kuala Lumpur.

Hi,
I looking for somebody who might have made a family tree of the Kerk(h)oven family which includes these persons, please ? Apart from the Nr. 4, the information on all others is fairly vague and probably not correct because according to the Wolvendaal records, Tobias Kerkhoven baptised 20 January 1713 as the son of Dirk Kerkhoven and Susanna de Orta did not have a son called Christian born 1736…and there is no marriage of him to a Miss Gilchrost…in fact the Gilchrost name I also did not find in any records. Thank you so much anybody who has information.
1. Christian Kerkoven born 1736, son of Tobias Kerkoven married in the Dutch Reformed Church Wolvendaal to Miss Gilchrost (the Wolvendaal/kabristan records do not have any info on this)
Their son:
2. Frederick Kerkoven, married at Kalutara, Marilene Roc (no Marilene Roc found anywhere..)
Their son:
3. John Kerkoven, born 1819 (died 25 March 1907 – 88 years old) married at Holy Cross Church Kalutara Louisa de Zilva
Their son:
4. Lawrence Kerkoven, born 28 July 1864 , baptized 10 September 1864, died 26 March 1922 (58 years old) married Dorotina Pereira, baptized 2 March 1872 at St Mary’s Church Negombo, daughter of Martinus Pereira and Robertina Tissera
Possibly my 2nd Great Grandmother Charlotte Henrietta Bastiansz
Birth ABT. 1835 • Possibly Colombo, Western Province, Sri Lanka (Ceylon
My 2nd Great Grandfather was Cecil Theodore Kern Birth 13 MAY 1832 – Death 3 APR 1862
I have found this very hard to research any help would be amazing
Kindest Regards
