I wonder if you can help me find details of my late father.
His name was Douglas Gordon Baron Pithie. He travelled to Ceylon around 1925 when he was about 19.His trade was a plumber. All I know is he was a tea planter in Ceylon until he returned to Scotland in 1931.
He was a freemason, however I do not know if that was before he came to Ceylon or after he returned to Scotland.
I would be very grateful for any information about my father or any pointers to other sources of information of his time in Ceylon
Although he does not appear on our data base, you may find some information of web site History of Tea by Dilma, there is a list of tea planters on that site.
