Dear Sir,
I wish to trace my Grandfathers history, he was born in 1887 in Gampola, Diocese Kandy Ceylon.
His name is Gerard Silvester Ambrose, he also attended St Josephs Church in Gampola he left Ceylon when he was about 17 yrs old and then spent approx 49 yrs in Britain.
Can you pass on any further information about him, family names , dates, etc.
Yours Sincerly,
We do not hold the RC records for Gampola. However a Leanora daughter of Jacob Ambrose and Caroline his wife of Gampola was found in the Anglican Church. If this is of any use it will cost £4.00

I am trying to trace the grave of my grandfather the late Christopher Theodore Brito Paulickpulle who died in 1983. I know that he was buried in an Anglican church yard in Kandy but am not sure in which church. One of his sisters Helen Maria Paulickpulle was baptised in St Pauls Kandy around 1900-1903. Any assistance in helping me to locate either his burial records or grave will be much appreciated.
Sincerely
David de Silva Paulickpulle
Hello,
I am wondering whether your grandad had any relatives called John Ambrose and Theodore Ambrose? I remember my Grandma speaking of her relatives in Gampola. The Ambrose family were originally from Chennai in India.
Martin Ambrose married a Miss Pereira and had Sons and daughters, Catherine, Wilfred, Gerard and Theodore. Theodore Ambrose my great grandfather married Clare Florence Taylor of Irish origin. It looks like Gerard was my great grandfather’s brother?
Wow this looks promising.

Hi, my 2nd great grandfather was married at St Paul’s Church in Kandy, Ceylon on 1st Dec 1858 to Mary Blake. I was wondering if I could somehow get a full copy of the marriage certificate? Could you let me know how if it is possible? I purchased Eileen Hewson’s book and CD to verify the information but I want to verify the parent’s names for John and Mary.
Thank you in anticipation of your prompt reply.

Please can you help ?
I am trying to find the birth or baptism record of my grandmother.
Her name was Margaret Geraldine Mack born January 1931, daughter of Walvin Gerald Mack and Minette Loos.
We know her sister Moira Minette was born in 1924 and there seems to be a mention of these three people in the indexes.
I would so appreciate some help, or redirection to where I may find help.
Eileen from the Kabristan Archives suggested I contact you.
Kind regards,
Oliver Wilson.
I have lost my baptism certificate I had baptized in kankasanturei st Anthony Church how can I get it
