Dear All,firstly let me introduce myself to you. My name is Peter Fraser. My Dad Malcolm Ferdinands came to Australia in 1945.
He subsequently changed his name to Fraser.
The reason for my email is that one of my Cousin’s is compiling a story about our Grandmother and Grandfather Bertram Hugh Ferdinands and Eva Ferdinands (Nee Toussaint ). I am attempting to find a photograph of the Church that they were married in 1903 for her. Holy Trinity Church,Saint Sebastian Hultsdorf,Colombo,(Ceylon)Sri Lanka. Am just wondering if you may be able to assist or offer any leads. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give me. Below is all the information I have found to date.

This from: http://www.dioceseofcolombo.lk/churches/98-colombo-archdeaconry/166-holy-trinity-church-wellawatte I have contacted them but to date have had no reply.
“The first Holy Trinity Church situated at San Sebastian Hill was
consecrated by Bishop Chapman in 1847 and regulated by Episcopal Ordnance of
26 November 1846.
It catered mainly to the business and civil service personnel amongst whom
the Burgher community was preponderant. With rapid commercialization of this
area, residents moved away and the congregation which supported the church dwindled, until
the Church became functus.* The Church then stepped in and acquired the
abandoned Church premises for a school.”

Dear Peter,
Thank you for your mail.
Unfortunately this church no longer exists it was closed some years ago and
I do not have any pictures of it.
I went looking for it about 10 years ago and did not find a trace of it.
It was know as the Burgher church.
Good luck with the book it is good to have this history preserved.
