My grand father George william Harrison born in ceylon in1873 march Fathers name Thomas george Harrison was Baptized at St pauls Church pettah or Kurunegala date not known his step sisters were baptized in 1888 at st pauls pettah, please be kind enough to make a search of his baptism certificate
That is a tough task, but try talking to the archdiocese of Colombo for the Anglican church, I was able to get a marriage certificate from 1903 from them, thanks to DR .Malcolm Jasnsze’s hard work. FYI St Paul’s Pettah is now at Kinsey road it was brought their in high procession around 1905.
I visited the bishops house library a few years back and with the help of Dr Malcom Jansz traced and viewed the baptism certificates of my grand aunts went over personally and filled up the forms and i was told that i would have to pay Rs 1500 a copy i agreed now its over a year and no one got back to me very dissapointed the names of the 3 girls arejane elizabeth born28 11 1879

Sorry to hear about your experiences. I will have a dig around and see what I can find for you.
There would appear to be multiple entries in the Ferguson Directories for Thomas George (T.G.) Harrison from the 1880-81 edition through to 1904. He is in various parts (New Bazaar, Grandpass & Hulftsdorp) Colombo throughout. He is not listed in the 1870-71 edition although may have been too young at that point.
The “British Armed Forces And Overseas Births And Baptisms” index on FindMyPast has a number of Harrison entries in Ceylon in the 1840-1859 period, including one for a Thomas George Harrison (1850-59 returns) – https://search.findmypast.co.uk/search-world-Records/british-armed-forces-and-overseas-births-and-baptisms There should be additional information with this record that you can use to order a baptism/birth certificate from the GRO – https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/app_select.asp

There is a British Army Service Record for a George William Harrison born circa 1873 availble on FindMyPast. Dated 1887, the location is recorded as Colombo, which might give some additional information.
